Kongolam-Takeida Road - Nigeria
The project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing road, including 30 box culverts.
The existing route is about 71 km long and the width of the carriageway is about 6.00 m with shoulders of 1.00 m on both sides of the road. The rehabilitation consists of the enlargement of the road cross section and of the re-alignment of the road.
The new planimetric alignment follows as much as possible the existing route with the aim of minimizing the earthworks.
The new altimetric alignment follows the highest possible ground in order to avoid flooding risk and to obviate the necessity of excessive cross drainage.
The cross section is 12.80 m wide with two lanes of 3.65 m each and shoulders of 2.75 m on both sides of the road.
